Icarus is the mythical figure who plunged to his death on wings of wax after flying too close to the sun. He let himself get caught up in the joy of soaring through the sky, while he ignored the warnings and cries of his father to stay safely in the middle between the heat of the sun and moisture of the sea.
After some reflection, IF co-founders, Daryl Thompson and jeff croff, realized that they too would have joined Icarus in his plummet rather than accept the safe middle ground. Coupling that realization with the acronym IF (in deference to the oft asked question in theatre, “What if?”), the duo felt they had found the perfect moniker.
